Fuxing Group Expands Philippine Production of PP Corrugated Produce Boxes for US Buyers
Davao and Manila plants add capacity for PP corrugated boxes, fish totes and harvest bins outside the scope of the 2026 US AD/CVD case on China and Vietnam
Davao has been running since 2019 and Manila since 2024, so we can quote Philippine-origin boxes today, not next year.”
DAVAO CITY, PHILIPPINES, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Fuxing Development Group, a multinational packaging manufacturer with 145,000 m² of production across China, Vietnam and the Philippines, is expanding output of reusable PP corrugated plastic boxes, fish totes and harvest bins at its Davao and Manila plants to serve North American fresh-produce and seafood buyers.— Fuyang Huang, General Manager, Fuxing Development Group
The move follows the 2026 US antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) case on corrugated plastic boxes from China and Vietnam. Boxes produced at Fuxing's Philippine plants are outside the scope of those orders and enter the United States with 0% AD/CVD. That is not 0% import duty: since July 24, 2026 a 12.5% Section 301 tariff applies to Philippine-origin goods (as it does to Vietnamese and Chinese-origin goods, with China keeping an additional 25% under List 3), plus the normal HTSUS rate, so importers should confirm landed cost with their broker.
"Importers who relied on Chinese or Vietnamese corrugated plastic boxes are asking for a supplier with the same tooling, print quality and food-grade resin but a different origin," said Fuyang Huang, General Manager of Fuxing Development Group. "Davao has been running since 2019 and Manila since 2024, so we can quote Philippine-origin boxes today, not next year."
Fuxing's Davao plant (80,000 m², established 2019) and Manila plant (15,000 m², 2024) produce corrugated plastic boxes and sheet in 2–10 mm, corrugated cartons for banana, pineapple and vegetable export, and fruit and vegetable packaging bags. The group's Hai Phong, Vietnam plant (30,000 m², 2023) and Dongguan, China headquarters (a 20,000 m² carton plant and a 25,000 m² plastic packaging plant) supply Asian and European markets. Fuxing is a long-term supplier to Del Monte, Sumifru and Unifrutti programs and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC and GMI certification with SGS audits.
PP corrugated boxes are gaining ground with US growers as a washable, recyclable alternative to waxed cartons and a lighter, collapsible alternative to injection-molded crates. A 5 mm PP box for an 18–22 kg produce load typically delivers 20–50 trips, folds flat for return freight, and can be printed with the grower's brand.
To help buyers specify the product, Fuxing has published free technical guides on its website: a corrugated plastic thickness guide (2–10 mm, with grammage and sheet weights), a farmers market crates and produce bins guide with standard crate sizes and bushel weights by crop, a harvest bins cost guide, and a fish tote sizes guide.
The company exhibited at Asia Fruit Logistica 2026 in Hong Kong. Samples and quotations are available within 12 business hours.
